Eligibility

Small or Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) by definition of:

  • Have less than 250 employees
  • Be an independent business unit (less than 25% owned by one or more companies not falling within this definition, except public investment corporations, venture capital companies or provided no control is exercised, institutional investors.
  • Have a turnover not greater than €40mn, or have a balance sheet not greater than €27mn.
  • Has all or part of their production in automotive components, tooling or test equipment, or is involved in the design of automotive components. Tooling is restricted to tools for manufacturing automotive components, not machinery or robotics manufacture. Test equipment is restricted to equipment directly involved in the manufacturing and assembly processes. Components do not include items that are solely intended for aftermarket installation.
  • Be located in the Core Objective 2 region of the West Midlands.

All qualifying West Midlands SMEs, whoever their customer or final vehicle manufacturer, are eligible for assistance.
